Hanssem and Hyundai Livart Q1 profits split by B2C and B2B exposure
Published: · Source: mk.co.kr

Hanssem and Hyundai Livart, South Korea’s No. 1 and No. 2 furniture companies, showed contrasting first-quarter results amid a prolonged construction market slump. According to mk.co.kr, Hanssem posted operating profit of 10.1 billion won in the first quarter, holding up relatively well. Hyundai Livart, by contrast, reported operating profit of 1.0 billion won. The difference came from their business structures. Hanssem has a higher share of B2C operations, which limited the direct impact of weak construction activity. Hyundai Livart has a higher B2B share and was hit more directly by the downturn. As furniture firms broadly face weaker earnings, the split between consumer-facing and construction-linked businesses was reflected directly in profitability. Source: mk.co.kr
