According to the financial investment industry on May 12, Citi recently raised its target price for Samsung Electronics from KRW 300,000 to KRW 460,000. The move came about two weeks after it cut the target from KRW 320,000 to KRW 300,000 on April 30. At that time, Citi lowered its 2026-2027 operating profit forecasts by 10-11%, citing an intensifying union strike and provisions for bonuses. In the new report, Citi focused on a stronger memory semiconductor cycle, citing expected global memory price gains in the second half, customer procurement requests linked to AI model development, and stronger supplier pricing power. It forecast fourth-quarter HBM prices to rise 30% quarter on quarter and projected Samsung operating profit at KRW 33.1 trillion this year and KRW 41.2 trillion next year. Citi also raised SK hynix’s target from KRW 1.7 million to KRW 3.1 million for the same reason. Source: hankyung.com.
