Korea Growth Model Centers on Education and Tech Innovation, World Bank Says

World Bank Planet Vice President Guangzhe Chen said at the Sejong Conference on May 8 that education and technological innovation are core elements of Korea’s growth model for developing countries. He viewed Korea’s development experience as a reference case for emerging economies. Chen also said high oil prices triggered by the war in the Middle East, while a burden for oil-importing countries, could paradoxically accelerate their energy transition for decarbonization.
