Semiconductors Lift Kospi Scale as 2027 Operating Profit Tops W1,000tn

According to FnGuide on May 11, 170 Kospi-listed companies with earnings estimates from at least three brokerages are forecast to post consolidated operating profit of W849.5262tn this year and W1,050.2303tn next year. This year's estimate is up 25% from W676.8813tn a month earlier. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are driving the revision. Their combined operating profit forecasts stand at W587.6624tn this year and W768.579tn next year, accounting for 69% and 73% of the total. Rising memory chip average selling prices and long-term supply agreements were cited as key factors. The Kospi closed up 4.32% at 7,822.24, while JPMorgan presented a 10,000 target.
