EcoShell Tests Oyster Shell Desulfurizer Supply With Korea Southern Power
Published: · Source: mk.co.kr

EcoShell, a company specializing in recycling fishery byproducts, is supplying high-purity oyster shell calcium carbonate produced at its resource recovery facility to Korea Southern Power’s Hadong Bitdream headquarters for an eco-friendly desulfurizer pilot project. The project focuses on verifying whether discarded oyster shells can be used as desulfurization material for power plants. According to the original report, the shell-derived calcium carbonate is used as an eco-friendly desulfurizer, and if commercialized, annual supply could exceed 50,000 tons. Recycling oyster shells could reduce the burden of handling fishery byproducts and broaden alternative material use at power plants. The pilot results are expected to serve as a key basis for commercialization decisions. Source: mk.co.kr
