EcoShell Tests Oyster Shell Desulfurizer Supply With Korea Southern Power

EcoShell, a company specializing in recycling fishery byproducts, is supplying high-purity oyster shell calcium carbonate produced at its resource recovery facility to Korea Southern Power’s Hadong Bitdream headquarters for an eco-friendly desulfurizer pilot project. The project focuses on verifying whether discarded oyster shells can be used as desulfurization material for power plants. According to the original report, the shell-derived calcium carbonate is used as an eco-friendly desulfurizer, and if commercialized, annual supply could exceed 50,000 tons. Recycling oyster shells could reduce the burden of handling fishery byproducts and broaden alternative material use at power plants.
